ISWorld Net VMC
Policies for Private Sessions
The ISWorld VMC is pleased to arrange private meetings for the Information Systems
community. We have a few policies and restrictions that are listed below. We welcome your
feedback on these policies and hope to continue evolving them to better serve the needs of
all concerned. :
- The VMC is only available for use by faculty and researchers in the information systems
community, invited guests, and students sponsored by faculty. Students may apply to
independently use the VMC if they are sponsored by a faculty member.
- Given that the VMC has limited resources and is managed by volunteers we may not be able
to honor every request and may have to prioritize requests based on our availability and
interests.
- The VMC will handle registration, publicity (if desired), and reminders. In addition, a
VMC member will assist with planning and with technical issues during your session. We
assume that the session will be moderated by you or a person designated by your group.
- The VMC will log all sessions and provide a copy of the transcript to the session
organizer/moderator. We will make the transcript available publicly only if requested to
do so by the session organizer/moderator. Organizers/moderators are responsible for
informing participants that their interaction may be made public.
- All transcripts will include the following information:
Transcript of "title of session" dateofsession,
nameoforganizer and affiliation, siteofsession

The contents of this transcript may be further distributed if (a)
the complete transcript is kept together including this message, and (b) all the
participants and/or moderator of the session listed elsewhere in this document approve of

reported or otherwise disseminated without the explicit permission of all the participants
and/or the moderator of the session listed elsewhere in this document. The VMC and
authorized representatives may analyze and use the transcript for research purposes
assuming that normal standards of confidentiality and privacy will apply.
Participants

- The VMC will use the transcripts for research purposes and ask
session organizers and participants for feedback. We will follow the standard practice of
protecting the privacy of individuals. We will also need your assistance in
encouraging the participants to provide us with feedback.
